There's no doubt about it.

Especially since its normally like $120+ for the amp.

You can throw the dac in there for like $90 more and a peice of wire to solder them together.

Massdrop has the option for an exclusive "Desktop" model which shuffles the power input to the back and adds RCA connectors, I think that takes away the need to solder anything

Edit: Also adds a 1/4 inch headphone adapter

Note: This is a custom production run with an estimated ship date of November 30th. The Desktop Edition is available at checkout for an additional $15 and features a quarter-inch headphone output, RCA inputs, and rear mounted power jack. At checkout, you can select either the 110V or 220V AC Adapter.

People have been making the "Desktop edition" for awhile.

The desktop amp is still just an amp.

On the usual 02 amp, you can also fit the dac inside the same housing, it just takes two wires soldered to connect them. Idk if it works with the desktop version, might not be enough room to fit the dac.

You can always just stack them on top of each other & hook them up with rca/3.5mm. But imo its ugly.

Ya I read that, it will power lower impedence headphones decently too (have used it for that) but he gave a pretty positive review for the DAC portion

he also lists a mod for the headphone output that will improve it immensely, which costs a few bucks, but as decent as I am at soldering I am not sure that pencil-tip sized resisters are really within the scope of my skills

Ah I see, I would just stack them personally, I don't think it looks bad that way, anyways probably not buying the DAC at this time anyways

Torn between buying the O2 and possibly waiting several weeks for it, or buying the Bravo V3 for the same price and having it by Saturday....

Get the o2. Its an amazing little amp.

If you have questions ask away, I've owned my o2 combo for a few years now.

What headphones are you guys using the O2 with?

I will be using whatever amp I get with my AD700s and the K7XXs when they arrive...

I also ordered a Fiio e6 to use with my phone while on break at work, with the ESW9's, phones output is just too shitty
