Unsolder-ed lead  ??

Just a bit of the lead that was stuck to it. It wiped off.

Probably a reversed diode or some other small error.

Do you have an oscilloscope to probe the circuit with?

I'm pretty sure I got all the diodes right but I'll have to double check. I lost my multi meter and need to buy a new one tomorrow.

If you can grab a cheap analog oscilloscope off of ***, they are incredibly helpful.

VOUCH...O scope and schematic with the expected waveforms at certain checkpoints = happy camper.

This weekend I am going to work on it again. Between work and having lost my multi meter I am a bit shit out of luck. I need to buy a new meter. I am pretty sure the LED is just dead, but I can't confirm without a meter. The schematic and pcb layout can be found here: https://app.box.com/s/cnwc8f2j96sldcjt0v50

If you look at the schematic in the lower left you can see a Q5 8050 transistor, some resistors and the dual color led. The led is supposed to light up to color A as the transistor is open and leads to ground, and when the key is down (grounded) the transistor closes because of the high resistance and color B glows. Unfortunately color A doesn't want to light up, and I have no tried to make color B show because I have to put a 50 ohm load resistor on the antenna jack or else I run the risk of blowing out my final (the last transistor that amplifies the signal).

The led on the radio does work I just wasn't using it correctly. The led lights up red when you TX, although I haven't found out when it should turn green. I can only imagine it turns green when you receive a strong signal or something.

Meanwhile just now I soldered together a new microphone for my computer. I was tired of using my headset on my desk while I was using my headphones so I made a new one using a microphone from somewhere... I think it was an old cell phone.

I don't have photos, but the mic looks like this: http://www.learningaboutelectronics.com/images/solderingmicrophone.jpg

Just 2 wires into a 3.5mm mono or stereo plug. The computer side puts current through it and amplifies the signal so no extra hardware is required. It is also nice a clear, better than most peoples headsets. I need to make a stand, clip, or maybe find a place to mount it on my monitor. I also need to source some sort of foam or pop filter if I were to use it on a clip on my shirt.

Also need to go to the store and get some heat shrink tube for this. I have some but it is way to tight to fit the wires inside it.
