The only difference is the lighting... aka they are basically the same.
I'm pretty sure MGS4 knew that.

I have a set of those and they work great! The bass is HUGE btw.

So do i. I can hear my bass in my room while im in the basement.

/Facepalm. an LED LCD is still an LCD television just that they replaced the CCFL bakclights with either EDGE lit LEDs or full array of back LEDs.

I'm looking to get a TV in my bedroom but haven't been keeping up with them at all. Looking for something between 40-46" and under $1000 any suggestions?

If 50 inches is absolutely too big then you could always try finding a 46" Panasonic ST30, they should be well under $1000 and still has excellent picture.
