Bring Moar adapters! Would be really stupid to change something that is standard.. None of existing headphones are compatible and apple headphones are not compatible with anything else.. This would be cutting facror for many I believe.

I'm sorry to say, but you have wasted money on the cables, there is no point to pay more than 10-15$ for such cables as it will not bring you any benefits over those cheaper cables.

Haven't heard Sonos myself so can't say much about them.. How ever I'm not a fan of soundbars as they don't offer so good sound compared to stereo pair of speakers from same price range. Even if you add a pair of speakers as rears you wont be getting real 5.1 experience. You could possibly get away when adding 2 pairs of those play 1's and use one pair as fronts and one pair as rears and the soundbar as center channel. I'm not sure if this is possible with those Sonos speakers how ever, but with setup like that you would experience real 5.1 surround. Did you just buy your setup and you could return them and build a real 5.1 setup? :D As I'm seeing those Sonos speakers are pretty highly priced and you could build pretty amazing 5.1 setup with the same price range.
