So for headphones most of "us" don't have that trained ear. We don't know how to truly appreciate what we're listening too (I'd imagine...I've never listened to super high end sound).
What'd the cut off point for the average person's ear vs an audiophile in terms of purchase?

If I don't have the fine tuned ear to appreciate superior sound, then how do I know if I've passed the point of wasting money?

Like if I go buy $500 sennheiser headphones, I probably could get the same value to MY ears for $200 (made up numbers).

Yea, I rarely use IEM's atm.

I need to start though, Because most of the time when im out fullsize headphones are kind of annoying to pack around & i only end up using them for like 30 min.

IEM's would be great for short trips to the dr. etc when im running people around town.

Go and audition things, get what sounds best to you when comparing with same source and songs.

I'm gonna start making my own lossless collection of music soon. About time I guess Any advice?

I didn't know there was a difference in ripping. I'm gonna use dBpoweramp to rip.

Received my unit on Friday.. Such a beast for its size! In my smallish room with opening on hallway this little cube outputs enough power with only 1/4th of its power. Integrates really well with my mains and sounds amazing with music. Still have to do more runs with movies and possibly some little tweaks as well..
