no i just don't openly support anti consumer practices

you really think intel would be charging $350 for a quadcore i7 if they didn't have a monopoly?

competition drives prices down
finally have some with amds line, which could get better with bios, os updates, drivers and patches
and 300 has always been the price, if you consider inflation the price could be way higher

how much was q6600?

Don't even get mad.
He's just trying to convince himself the 1800x was a good buy.
It's ok

The 1800X is a good buy (See: value) for people who actually use productivity programs and multitask heavily.

For pure gaming, lol naw.

not mad at all lol

but the 1800x could be a good buy reviews are so mixed, memory issues, clocking issues, bios problems are a very known thing

look at some of the clocking on it, maxed out all cores for cb but not for many other apps and games,

now if they fix their bios, drivers and think its windows scheduler along with some game patches to utilize more cores
it'd be one hell of a chip
but for now its meh on gaming stand point

btw if you guys have looked many games arent even clocking up to its potential stuck way lower

the 4790k was never 850$

the q6600 was never worth 530$

you're arguing a moot point

ya these are the main reasons i cancelled my preorder
probably still buying
just waiting for matured bios, maybe microcode updates and general maturity on the platform itself

i mean when you disable smt and get more performance something is wrong l0l

gaming benchmarks weren't too disappointing but if scores improve it solidifies the 1700/1700x/1800x as the best processor for the $$ for both gaming and workstation usage
