Soldered together a little 3w QRP cw radio. It doesn't quite work, or at least the led doesn't turn on, but the lm386 is producing amped audio as per the audible pop when you power it on. I need to get an antenna on it and see if I can get anything.

It's the solder mask that was turning to shit. Can't expect much coming out of china though.

Yeah i could see it but thats fine so long as the connections are solid your good.
My big weller soldering iron likes to singe/melt boards if I make contact to long.

Probably a reversed diode or some other small error.

Do you have an oscilloscope to probe the circuit with?
