Looking good, although waterblock for ram and not chipset is a bit silly imo.

I hope you were being sarcastic.

Chipset blocks usually cover the more important VRMs.

Oi, where's the pictures of the underbelly?

Fans n stuff.

lol

ever heard of vrm?

lol You guys..

Not sure if any of you guys know this besides Akula or maybe Batanga but most of the boards made will never have blocks for them. Only a very select few have vrm or even bridge blocks. I can name plenty of top dollar high end boards that have no blocks made for them unless you contacted an enthusiast or artisan and had one custom made.

Currently overclocking my 680's.
Stressing with Valley & 3dMark - All 3 stable on identical clocks for the past 2 hours.

I'll start fine tuning individual cards in a few hours.

+155 / + 725
1155Mhz Core / 1205Mhz Boost / 7460Mhz Memory

Mercury Build

Stripping down the Dimastech Test Bench, excellent bench, best machine I've had to date yet it's too bulky, takes up too much space on my desk.
I'll reuse majority of the components that i can, although I'll be going with the new 1150 Socket :)

Main Components
Caselabs Mercury S3
ASUS Maximus VI Impact
Intel Socket 1150 4770k
Corsair Dominator GT 2133Mhz (2x4GB)
OCZ Vertex 3 MIOPS 256GB
Western Digital WD Red 2TB
Silverstone Strider 650W Gold ST65F-G
MSI GTX 680 Vanilla

Watercooling Components
EKWB GTX 680 CSQ Acetal & Nickel Waterblock
EKWB CSQ Acetal & Nickel CPU Waterblock
Laing D5 & EKWB CSQ Acetal Pump Top
EK CSQ 150ML Reservoir
EK CSQ Fittings
Noiseblocker BlacksilentPro PL-2 x 4
EK CoolStream PE 240 x 2
PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8in ID x 1/2in OD Tubing Clear
EK Blood Red Coolant

Like any of my other builds, it will take time, no intention to rush this project, especially considering I'll have to dissemble my current machine to get this operational.
Custom wiring, mounts paint and a tight fit.

Enjoy & Fuck the Haters.

Build Log

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/56428-project-mercury/

Small update, I've received some parts for this build, still awaiting my Mercury S3 - 5 Business days and then some for shipping to AU.
  • Intel Socket 1150 4770k
  • ASUS Maximus VI Impact
  • Silverstone Strider 650W Gold ST65F-G

Over the next few days i intend to test the 4770k to insure it didn't arrive DOA, if all goes well my plan is to delid the chip as i want the coolest temperatures for this mITX build.
I won't be reusing the Intel IHS, intending to use EK's Naked standoff's for this particular build.

Part's I've ordered in the past few days.
  • Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra - Thermal Paste
  • 50ft 16AWG Black Hookup Wire
  • 2 x EK Coolstream PE 240mm Radiator's

I've dissembled my past machine to accommodate for this build, i'll sell selling my old radiators, GTX 680's, CPU & any other parts i can sell.
This build practically pays for itself.
