4k resolution crammed into a 28" screen < 5k resolution spread across 3 screens. I would much rather have more monitor real-estate personally.

Yah probably a personal preference thing, I'm not a big fan of multi monitor setups. If i wanted real-estate I would have went with the LG that's coming out. Debated on it but 1400 for a monitor is a bit excessive lol.

what doesnt make sense is 2560x1600 screen on a phone is cheaper compared to the same with a monitor, and the phone comes with alot more shit inside it plus the fact the ppi is higher which is harder to do supposely

It's all just marketing and business, they can charge so they will charge. Has nothing to do with anything else, probably a bit more expensive for them to make it but the markup is really high.
