Going to be getting a new pair of headphones for female vocals. Thinking either HE500 or a pair of used HE560s.

Any other cans I should consider in the $600 range?

Haha, yeah.

You can tell you've been on a forum too long when you see recognise people by their avatars.

Ended up deciding on the he560s. It was the weight of the 500 that scared me off.

Make a quick first impression of the headphones when you get them. I'm interested.

Have you tried Sennheiser HD600? I would recommend you to audition them as one of options. Beyerdynamic DT990 is one great option as well.

It was the weight being over 500 grams that scared me off

Using DT880s, which I preferred over the 990s. Haven't tried the 600s, but my friend told me to get the he560 over the hd650.

Will do. Unfortunately my amp is in a different country at the moment, so it will be two weeks before I can really listen to 'em.
