build may take less time...check RED dot in pic....my mobo tray WITH all the components still on it....slides out the back on roller bearings

What you're doing solves a different issue than what I said. That is pretty impressive, but if one of your drives fails, you're not at your full operational capacity. With a RAID 5/6 setup, you would be.

Naw bro, I'm just doin RAID without doing RAID...I have copies of everything and if one drive goes...I can be right back to full ops in 5 -10 mins...granted I only have one set of OS backups...but that will also change...I sorta slowly adjusting things to the new Win 7 install.

Also I got a lot of duplicate files and way old files...that I'm slowly in the process of cleaning up.

Hell I still got text files for example from back when Ladder Hall was still called Nightshivers. I got like every copy of Firefox from 3.0 to present. Also have lot of other HUGE older programs that will get deleted.
I just don't like RAID...so I made my own manual RAID so to speak

WOOT...parts just came.


So afk, till I unhook this comp and hook up my old one till I get the part swap done...wish me luck on no DOA ^^

OK, here we go...wish I had a camera :/

1. Shut down new comp and took main 300GB Velociraptor out...hooked up old comp, and used Partition Magic to wipe XP off the C: partition. Then put Velociraptor back in new comp.
2. Unhooked about 6-7 cables and wires and slid whole mobo tray with all components still on it, out of new comp.
3. Set new comp aside and am about to start swapping all the parts....

...continued...new comp is completely stripped and CPU cooler removed and cleaned nothing left but mobo tray standoffs and rear fan.

Small time out while I fap at my Dominator Platinums then, time to assemble

padded, labeled, no metal tabs... I/O shield in and all motherboard numbers recorded..
