This.

WD Velociraptor is hardly fast.

222MB/s

...and to be honest...I don't see the need fo SSD's, I never turn comp off, and as for load times...D2 loads just as fast as it always did.
Best part is I don't have to practically rebuild Win 7 to get the full speed on a HDD like I do on an SSD.
Also, HDD have no "max number of write cycles"

While SSD's may be the greatest thing for laptops and tablets etc...on a desktop, don't really care. I mean I could go buy a box of SSD's...for what...my WEI score... lol

Well, first of all, that rebuilding of Win 7 takes 10-15 minutes if you know what you are doing.

Secondly, the "Max number of write cycles" is a fairly invalid argument right now. That limit takes forever to reach, even more than that if the SSD is just a boot drive (stupid use, though).

SSD's are mostly about the access time to me. Of course, looking at the numbers we are talking about less than a miliseconds difference, but it feels much different. My HDD oftenly gets a hickup if I open random programs in rapid succession. I even noticed a hickup when closing down programs (...).

But well, old people have a quite stern mindset, so I should shut-up :P

1. You've never used an SSD so how can you tell the difference?
2. You don't.
3. This is bullshit.

/edit YOU want an SSD...fine by me...I don't. Deal with that ^^

1. You couldn't tell the difference of load times? bs.
2. Cache SSD, GTFO.
3. It would take you probably 4 lifetimes to kill one.

Stop spammin this post....

Who cares about load times...my comp doesn't get turned off ...LOL
Like I've said 100 times on here. When YOU have an SSD that's 8 years old and has run for 8 years 24/7....then come at me.
What I buy for my comp(s0 is not up for debate ^^

he's not really spamming , he's just trying to discuss with you ssd's over hard drives...
btw , you can get 5 years + on a ssd , the vertex 4 has a 5 years warranty if you're concerned about the lifetime.

This thread is full of spam lol.

And you are probably the only person on planet earth that does not have to reboot windows.

and flash memory > mechanical.

This is still about technology, therefore, not spam.
