What happens if your disk 2 takes a shit? There goes your backups. With a RAID 5/6 setup, you would also have much more usable disk space that isn't backups.

If you're wanting storage security, you're doing it wrong.

yeas I know that..but if one HDD fails...I can just make a backup on the other..I can also copy them to the other HDD....however..since both 1TB's are relatively new..I don't expect that to happen...and since my system is so clean, BECAUSE I use backups...if the backup drive dies (the newest drive btw)...I can just make another backup.

Sure RAID would eliminate that...but then I'd have to deal with RAID drivers and their problems and backups wouldn't the simple affair they are now.

I got an idea...why not let me do things the way I like...I'm fairly sure that I'm the only one here who last installed win XP 8-9 years ago now ^^

he has strict budget. if i3's drop dramatically and he doesn't need the power then it would only make sense.

But ya I would still probably go with an APU

When I was younger I had the same PROBLEM you seem to have, I also thought there was only ONE way to do things.

When you can install an OS 8-9 years ago, and carry a Ghost Image of it, through 4 different motherboards, successfully and w/o driver corruption....you come talk to me. I have ASUS and Nvidia tech support asking me how I did it, and what I did to prevent driver problems.

You're a smart guy and using you're time wisely to get an education. Try to remember what you are learning...eh?

/e On a lighter side...
