At the time, no other laptop interested me or captured my attention + desktop greater all. I made the decision to buy the macbook, and not play games my first year of college (for the most part).

Best damn investment I've ever made.

to be fair, membrane > mechanical for holding down a key imo. Much less resistance on a membrane = easier to hold the key down forever.

BUT the major advantage of a mechanical being the actuation point is why mech can be > membrane (other than 'feel)

Black > Blue for gaming IMO. BUT, you might prefer blue for typing so... Personally I find the 'click' of the two parts meeting with blues redundant, and prefer black keys for both typing and gaming. Plus blacks are *slightly* less prone to misclicking due to the greater force needed i guess, but its really not very noticable.

If i get enough money ill likely be buying the Blackwidow Ultimate
because I can't find an illuminated mechanical keyboard anywhere.

I havent looked into the Tt esports keyboards, but you should check them out. They are likely cheaper than razer, while offering more functions etc.

Not really worth sacraficing quality for back lit keys.. and fyi Minoix has the ziabel if you REALLY want backlit that bad.

I've never understood the need for backlit keys, if you are a shit typer and need to look at the keyboard, you shouldn't need a mechanical in the first place.

Just go with a cheap rubber dome that has HHUUURRR DUUURR FANCY LIGHTS.

I went with mechanical because of NKRO, better keypress accuracy, and longer life. If you are a shitty typer you probably don't need any of those.

Same, i went with the Das ultimate, because i wanted 0 markings on my keyboard. Also it makes you better at typing for things like numbers and symbols that you dont always use so your fingers arnt attuned to it

NKRO really isnt for typing...

I'll never understand the facination with blank keys other than not wanting to feel any letter on the key.

Yea it gathers dust lol, but I do like it because it absolutely forces you to learn, before yea i could type fine.. but like symbols i never had a clue.
