I just bought a pair of HD 598s and they are my first pair of expensive headlhones. I am looking into buying a DAC for them, but can anyone point me in the right direction in what accessories to buy etc. Don't know anything about audio etc.

need budget ofc
and you will need an amp to go along with a DAC. can't just plug straight into a DAC. if budget is tight, there are some DAC/amp combo's at a good price.

Tyvm, as for a budget since o have no knowledge in the products and even what I need I can't really say. What about mid budget with best price/performance? I'm not looking to spend lots.

I think Stax is still ahead tho but hard to say as haven't heard them. But if I had to choose one without hearing em I would go for Stax. http://www.stax.co.jp/Export/SR009e.html

Yeah I don't really think you can get better headphones than top of the line Stax's (perhaps Sennheiser Orpheus) but based on reviews I think I'm more of an Audeze (LCD-X/3) kind of guy :3
