If it's just Zoom and Movies, just buy an Apple m1 Air, unless there's specific Windows/x86 utilities you need to use. Kids love Apple products.

Really depends on models more then brands tbh.
All brands have decent products and shit ones imo.
Just got in, does she game at all or no?

Noone cares

I decided since your so interested id share with you my beautiful landscape and my toy.
So last season the usage and heavy loads cause the main drive chain to stretch.
Well it was a pretty simple fix with this toy of mine, Just had to loosen 6 bolts and slide the
engine back to tighten the track up. was more work removing the cover then fixing the machine.

lmk if you have any questions.

https://www.newegg.ca/black-w-blue-green-edge-asus-m570dd-ds55-gaming-entertainment/p/N82E16834235408R

if you want her to have entry lvl gpu

https://www.newegg.ca/acer-aspire-3-a315-23-r596/p/1TS-000X-02DK8

If you want something more extravagant maybe someone else will max out budget.
I also only looked on newegg, no time atm to browse 10 different sites and compare.

the last acer I bought, the battery was in series with the power cord. The battery was of three piece construction held together with black tape.

the laptop would heat up and turn off do to an open circuit

6 trips to Best Buy before the refunded my money

Ok and what does that have to do with this model?
you asked for an informed opinion I gave it.
Either accept it or don't, but don't bring me this nonsense.
As I previously stated some models have issues, from all brands.
Think your real issue was using best buy.

perhaps, but the current Dell bought from NewEgg came with a keyboard with TWO C keys that I needed to repair

I didn;t ask for your plans for the day, nor did I complain that you felt the need to post it

I get the felling you are just an ass

thanks for the advice on the "used" laptop

I stated I was going out so you didn't assume I was just ditching you.
I reverse trolled kid that was clearly starting shit with me after.
Upon my return I still offered my time and helped.
You came at me with some nonsensical BS so I spoke to you directly about it.
I can't please everyone and you seem hard to please.

Best of luck.

Avoid any brand that doesn’t offer a decent warranty IMO. Do research on brand/model or check overall reviews on the product if you’re buying from the likes of Amazon or Newegg. I usually stick with Dell, good safe option, but every OEM has different product tiers that will vary in quality.
