If now isnt a good time. No way to really know. But I'd speculate we may see this ongoing issue for several months if not even longer...

Agreed. You probably don't want to hear this, but I'm thinking... it won't go back to normal till early 2021.

/e Just go on PCpartpicker and check vid cards and x570 chipset motherboards. They are gone or outrageously priced. Power supplies as well.
Even the USA storefront of the manufacturers, are out of stock.

A lot of items will show up as "in stock" at say... B&H Photo. But when you click on the "BUY" button that takes you to the site....it says something like "more any day now".

I even had an issue with Amazon. They sold 12 motherboards to more than 12 people. Whoever chose the fastest shipping got them, those that picked slow or free shipping, lost out.
This last thing, happened to me. I chose free shipping for a motherboard, that was listed as in stock and sold and shipped by Amazon.
They did the usual, of putting a hold on the funds at my bank. Four days later they took the hold "off" those funds.

I was pissed. Fortunately I found the motherboard somewhere else, but they shouldn't have done that. They should have taken one out of inventory, the instant I placed the order.

/ee Normally, I think this never presents a problem. But I'm guessing that right now, they can't restock as fast as they usually could.

I guess deals may be available but less often now. And I'm sure factories and the supply chain will be severely impacted by COVID-19.
If we get that $2000 check next then I'll definitely buy a new pc now regardless of price. Bur highly doubt we will see that happen...

I think that's what's happening atm.

/e I think all this covid-19 BS is affecting PCpartpicker as well.

Other than supply chain interruptions. I can see prices decreasing as demand drops due to unemployment and more than likely depression.

For example... as of April 27th there were 6 of these EVGA 2060 supers, listed as in stock with prices. Now there's two.

https://pcpartpicker.com/products/video-card/#m=14&c=446&sort=price&page=1

And, what's worse... check out EVGA's site...

https://www.evga.com/products/productlist.aspx?type=0&family=GeForce%2020%20Series%20Family&chipset=RTX%202060%20Super

/e I've noticed a lot of things being bought out, but then appearing on sites like Amazon, with seriously marked up prices.

I haven't noticed anything weird with SSDs, CPUs or RAM... yet.

The only thing I can figure is both supply and demand, and lot of people being temporarily laid off also.

/e I've noticed that the in stock and out of stock listings on PCpartpicker aren't getting updated as fast as they used to.

Probably because the stock status is changing too frequently.

Or, because PCpartpicker laid some folks off.

/e And because places like... B&H Photo are reporting things "in stock" that really aren't atm. Like I said above... normally this practice probably doesn't affect things cause they can restock in 1-2 days. But because of covid-19... the whole restocking process is bogged down.
