I fully expect a RGB build Ghot....

If you mean a Real Good Build...then OK. But if you mean a bunch of flashy colors...sorry, can't help with that. :D

/e This is the whole build. The case and the vid card I'll order in July. I already have the power supply and the storage drives.

Remember this... :D

/ee Hopefully this will be the last comp I ever have to build for myself. :)

Cause of the stimulus checks....some rich peeps are buying everything up and re-selling at a mark up (like on Amazon)... or, manufacturers are just raising prices.

/e Like 3 days ago there was a RTX 2060 super for $383....now it's gone. Someone is buying ASUS motherboards and reselling on Amazon. Even ASUS USA doesn't have any. :/
The Fractal Design cases, just went up in price since last year... almost double.

I was looking at a Canada build today...looked like about the same price.

/ee Originally, I was gonna get this mobo... https://pcpartpicker.com/product/whMTwP/asus-tuf-gaming-x570-plus-atx-am4-motherboard-tuf-gaming-x570-plus

You can see it's out of stock, now, at Newegg. Also, there were 4 other vendors...all were like $20-50 higher price, and all disappeared in like 2 days. I think part of the problem is that they're made in the far east, and due to the coronavirus, the shipments aren't coming regularly.

/eee This is current at the ASUS - USA store... https://store.asus.com/us/category/Motherboards

For example...

2 days ago there were 5, EVGA 2060 supers and all had 2-3 vendors listed. Now there are only two left with vendors listed, and the prices of them are going up. EVGA is even out of stock. :/

And the prices of power supplies are going through the roof. Fortunately, I have two kick ass power supplies.

i got a 2070 super reference card for $480 months ago which is why i was shocked at the 2060s being more expensive.

Unless you want a specific model.... probably out of stock everywhere

2070 non supers are going for around 400
Grab that and go.

Get the Auros Elite if you cant get a Tuf-X570
That WS-Ace is overkill central. Should get a Crosshair VIII Hero if you're gonna do that

an extra $10 would have got you the 970 evo. you just gonna leave both m.2 slots empty?

Yeah I know. I'm fine with a 2.5". Hell look at my current build...I'm still rocking hard drives. :D

>< i mean, an 860 is fine and all but... look at these numbers...
https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-970-Evo-NVMe-PCIe-M2-500GB-vs-Samsung-860-Evo-500GB/m493995vsm428560

hard drive is still good to have.
ssd's aren't expected to last nearly as long as a platter drive with use. nor am i actually positive that the data would store for great lengths of time. that is unfounded suspicion though, i'm not really comprehensive on how mlc works.

It's not the $10, it's the heat. M.2 SSDs are like toasters. This build is to outlast me.
I didn't go for the Viii Hero or the Pro, because those boards have too much crap on them. Plus they're only 6 layer PCB. The WS board is 8 layer, has heat sinks from god, The WS is built like a tank.

I'm going for the 2060 super, cause it's the same card as the 2070, but not clocked so high. I've no need for high clocks. The newest game I play in Microsoft Links 2003.
Like I said way up top... I'm going for longevity, not... pushing the edge. The 3700X has great Turbo speed... and from what I've been reading, they don't OC all that much anyways.

I also had a 9700K build in the running, but realized that even though it's a skosh faster in gaming... I don't really game anymore. Hell, there haven't even been any decent games (IMO) for like 18 years.

There are quite a few games that would have been ok with better controls. WASD is stoopid. I was raised on joysticks. IMO, XBox or PSx controllers bite. They're better than the keyboard, but they still bite.
Let me run my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2 Joystick, and I'll hold my own in any game. :D
D2 had great controls... left hand on 1-4 and L thumb on L alt key... right hand on mouse. Left hand would work the skills too.

Somewhere along the line we got off track, with messed up game controls and pay to play and micro transactions etc. We also got off track with comps. It all started with that tsunami in the Far East, about 10 years ago... that wiped out all the hard drive factories. HDD prices went through the roof. Once the industry saw that they could blame parts prices on just about any act of god, they started playing us.

I started the actual partpicking for this build on April 13th. I'm happy with the parts I got, and the parts I'll get in July. :D

/e Oh, and I know the SSD numbers. SSD 2.5" is about 4x faster than a good 7200rpm HDD. And the M.2 SSDs are about 7 times faster than the 2.5" ers.
Hell... an M.2 would be so fast I wouldn't be able to get into the BIOS.
