the wall. i read that a power bar/ext cord or anything else would lower the quality. havent found a difference from using one or the other though

Have you tested the outlets with a multimeter ?
Can you take a pic of your electric panel, might help knowing what you have to work with.
single, 3 or split phase system etc.

nope

when i first bought these, i thought the outlet would just power the device, somehow the internet travels through the electrical? my brother is an electrician and he thought it was weird as well

not back home until sunday, so i can take a picture of it then. you think if i test the device in the same outlet, it should output the same speed?

Your houses wiring is basically used as a cable. The outlet does power it.
Why would an electrician know about something from the tech world?
Like asking him to redo a car system, probably has no idea where to start if he wires houses for instance.

Some houses use a single panel others use like multiple that tie together and sometimes changing the
outlet makes all the difference. the length of the run matters as well since the wire is basically a Ethernet
after x distance it can degrade or be effected by high power passing by it. Certain breakers are known to
be problematic for them as well.

I'll also assume your using all 1 type/brand of adapters as well not 3 different kinds.

If your brother is an electrician
Have him do some wiring
So every room has Ethernet

this is just trying too hard
just try it in a few outlets
if it is still scuffed then the wiring in your house prob just isn't good for powerline
just convince your mom to let you run the ethernet cable up the stairs

Was thinking that when I bought it, but would have to punch quite a few holes in the dry wall and possibly the floor, wasn’t worth it.

Well my fiancé left me recently so I guess there is no convincing anyone other than myself anymore eh

You guys know of any other methods to give a more stable connection aside from wifi?
