The NIC card has the advantage of running thru the pciex1 slot (not USB) and having it's own LAN chip. I'm still thinking it's a router problem though. Maybe try using the router ONLY for the desktop by itself, with no other devices using it?
P.S. I know NIC card is redundant, but I just can't bring myself to type NI card. :D
/e And see if your ISP can run a line test.
ok so super odd.... im running the xfast lan program now, not the broacom lan driver... but when i hover over the network, it has a yellow triangle with " ! " mark in it. and then it says currently connected to " identifying.... no network access "
yet the internet is working now.... the icon is just buggy i guess. super weird though. so far so good... thanks!
also i did call the router company as well as my ISP company and the ISP said the modem is fine on their end with their signals and they still did the reset line one their end, this was like a few hours ago before i re did the drivers

Run System Restore, try to roll it back to a date when it worked.
somehow it looks good, except the icon issue and it saying its not connected
