Did your 4790k actually limit your FPS in anything that isn't AC:O?

microstutter in anything remotely demanding has been fun to deal with, 4 cores just isn't enough anymore.
wanted to go back to amd eventually anyway, figured now was a good time considering ryzen2 is an upgrade from devils canyon whichever way you cut it.

I play on a 2 year old laptop and can still run literally every game at 1440p 144hz on max settings. Who cares whether intel or AMD is better by 5%

upgrade core wise

delid tool is cheap get that bad boy to 4.7 which would be same thing

i did 4770k to 8700k seen improvements in cad and like maybe couple games if that
and you being of 1440p im going to say the same

you can look here its like a 10% upgrade in gaming if that depending on the overclock you would have got on the dc

Original Crysis can max out $10,000 PC's that has nothing to do with today's popular games. I have a 1080ti desktop card in a laptop. I can run anything any pc today can.

i already have it delidded btw, i had a 4.5ghz undervolt to 1.17v for a long time

i was seeing limitations of 4c8t and upgrading to 3700x seems to have lifted those. maybe slower core speed but i ain't mad at that.

absolutely disgusting
amd is way more secure and honestly my 4790k has been giving me hiccups the last 2-3 years (i've only had my cpu 5 yrs in total) and with my 8320 i had never ran into the same problems

looking forward to using my 3700x to its fullest.

Sounds like user error considering you saying 8320 not having problems but 4790k does
