Your Windows 10 license depends on how you obtained it. If you don't have a product key you need to associate your current install with a Microsoft account to get a digital license. You will need this to activate Windows after you install it.

All Windows 10 installs have a license. Whether or not the customer is aware of or needed the license for install, doesn't change the fact that Windows 10 has a license.
Fortunately AIDA64 can get the license for any Win 10 install. Or any Windows install at all.

isnt windows 10 tied to the mobo lol

but if you need the key

From the WinX Menu in Windows 10 / 8.1, open an elevated command prompt window, type the following command and hit Enter:

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

Your Windows product key will be displayed.

Yeah, it is tied to the mobo. Neat command. I assume that's how AIDA64 gets it as well... just silently.

I'm not sure what "files" you're talking about. IMO, you either backup the whole OS partition, or don't backup anything. And I reaslly don't understand what you're referring to when you say "drag and drop files"
Drag and drop only works for data... like pics, music... etc.

/e I have about 31GB total on my C: drive (OS, and all my programs and games... everything). My whole C: partition backups using Acronis are 16.5GB. I "could" compress the backups further, but then they take more time to create or restore from. I never understood the need for partial backups. It takes me 6 mins to make a backup at 50% compression, and 9 mins to restore from one.

I'd just want to copy all files for school to other ssd like once every week or so. Like excel, word, powerpoint, pdf files. I guess saved logins, bookmarks, etc also would be nice. But I don't see the need to compress anything? Just want a pure copy. The main drive is 256 gb. and the 2nd ssd is 1tb. so more than enough to make a duplicate and keep updating the duplicate. But not sure of the best way to do this full copy without compression.

Yeah... that is just data. That's fine for drag and drop. I would just make say.... an 80GB partition on the 1TB drive, and make some folders for your various data files. Then when you drag and drop you can choose to overwrite or just use File > Save as.... and save under a diff name....for before and after copies... if needed.

/e I also have an 80GB partition for data. Here is some of the data I store...

It's all just drag and drop stuff.
