BIOS limitations for storage drives have been a thing for decades. Could be a factor, if the second bay uses PCIe instead of SATA for the drive interface. If SATA, I'd be surprised that a 2TB SSD wouldn't be supported, if it's rated for a 2TB platter drive.

asus said only like 512 gb for ssd and 2tb for hdd for the 2nd bay. it is SATA. i just installed a 1tb ssd and its fine lol. yea super weird that they told me just 512gb. but like ghot said maybe just cause thats all they offer as a prebuilt... but still they should know the limitations on their storage and make that info be clear
