They're cheap to replace and the ones that come with it aren't as good as the after market ones. Why wouldn't you place them? Plus they can get damaged when removing the heatsink. They could tear, etc.

This is a nice alternative to grease.

Cause its an expense, then there's wait periods for shipping.
I personally and I know MANY other shops don't bother unless they absolutely need to be replaced.
Like I said its rare that I actually need to replace the pads for the vrams.

All pads are varying thickness as well so sometimes it gets tricky getting the right pad.
Plus pads are not better then just straight up compound on die's nor is it cheaper (with your example).
