Went and bought new paste, applied and now idle temps are ~35

Is there anything in particular I have to do? Like a waiting time before gaming or is it just bang on and it's done

Naw. Arctic MX-4 has no curing time. You can use and abuse it immediately. :)

So after even less than a day temps are shooting up to 70 in idle mode again. Was playing path of exile and computer randomly shut down.

Any tips?

i opened it up, dusted it off some more and reapplied thermal paste again (1st time i did it, it didnt feel so good, felt like i applied too much and didnt spread it out)

leaving case open now, it looks like the cpu fan is barely spinning, maybe i need a new cpu cooler? think this one is a hyper 212 cooler master or something like that

Check your fan curve settings in bios.

Lots of folks set a fan curve in the BIOS. Me, I just disable the CPU fan control all together, in the BIOS. The fan will run at 100% when you do that.

How do I do that? I went into bios but couldn't find anything about fan settings

And now I can't re enter bios again idk why, computer just starts into windows when I click the f10

e: i did change the voltage to stock though (it was at 1.2 for 4.3ghz, i think i clocked it when i bought the pc) i set it default at 1.1 and 3.5 ghz
temps seem fine now

DEL to enter the BIOS.

And the CPU fan settings will be on the Hardware Monitor tab in the BIOS. <--- Where the temps are.

Well the fan is dead (changed to 100%, it starts up at fullspeed at ~1000rpm and after a minute its barely spinning) -> and in bios its always at full speed

should i get:
MSI CORE FROZR L COOLER (~56$) or cooler master hyper 212X (~33$)? these are the only avaiable ones in stock in my price range

now im getting a bit confused, im not experienced in this but could it also be a faulty PSU (or would i notice other problems?) or a faulty motherboard?
how can i make sure the fan is to blame in other words

hyper 212's are a pita to install

depending on your case you might not want a tall cooler, either.

Agree! Changing thermal paste on the 212 evo was a real hassle.

However the 212X appears to be smaller, but I want to make sure its not my PSU/motherboard thats broken before I order it, any ideas how to check that?
