It shows 8gb aprox are already allocated.
If you want more select custom size and enter like "12,288" in both boxes.
then click set and restart pc.

Though I can tell you now this won't help you in any way.

This is correct, your pagefile essentially allocates space on your hard drive to be used when you are maxing out your RAM, it also helps speed up your login of your profile and some other things but KA is correct this is not your issue.

Without actually seeing your issue first hand, I would suggest running something like ProcMon/ResourceMon to determine what is eating up your resources .
