It's just a best practice habit. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

I more often have wobbly performance rather than a complete failure so I'm not sure this would even help.

Well, Google has never had a total DNS outage, so the chances are unlikely. But as I said, it's just on my best practices list (a lengthy list from my days doing commercial IT).

Eh never thought of that. I've never had that problem though and I'm sure Google has multiple DNS to pull from if one goes down. They'll just reroute to a new machine.

Good advice for a business though! :thumbsup:

Bone up on basic troubleshooting techniques. If the cause of a problem isn't immediately obvious, start by eliminating single links in the chain at a time to narrow down to a culprit.

Also, take the 3rd horse in the 5th race.

i use cloudflare, never had a single problem on labtop/desktop/phone, and with vpn 0.0
