He won't have an explanation, but he's wrong. And his list is mediocre.

The PSU he picked is better, but his first link has issues as well. Let's list them:

1. There's no proof that getting a Samsung SSD will give you any more longevity or performance over that Mushkin.
2. The X370 he picked has the same VRMs/phasing/mediocre heatsinks as the Asus B350 offerings, making it pointless.
3. His RAM is too slow which will affect gameplay on Ryzen.
4. A Black series SSD gives nothing noticeable over a 7200RPM Blue that costs $40.

The 1060 is arguably better since it has more VRAM, but... eh.

This one is better, but it definitely needs a better motherboard for overclocking. The MSI Z370-A is a garbage 4 phase, and overclock.net's VRM tier list recommends not overclocking on it. Not overclocking defeats the point of an 8600K. Get a better mobo and probably a better power supply and this list is good.

I manage low-med lvl oc's on the board just fine.

I'm happy for you. Unfortunately, anecdotal evidence is not proof of quality. Quality is proof of quality. And that motherboard is not quality. Poor VRMs/VRM layouts/VRM cooling means the overclock will potentially wane much more quickly than a better motherboard. It could even fail.

Which one? Yours or his? His is. Yours isn't as good for gaming as it should be at that price point.

PCPartPicker community is mostly people that parrot what they hear. They don't actually understand anything. Even JSP is more knowledgeable. A Ryzen 1600 isn't bad (it's what I use), but for gaming an 8600K overclocked is considerably better. This is because of the ~8% IPC advantage and considerably higher clock speeds you can get on Intel.

Samsung has been PROVEN to have better longevity
The 370 motherboard has better heat sinks on those VRMs.
You can get faster RAM if you want. just get it from a better company.
A WD black HDD has a 5 year warranty compered to s 3 year for the blue.

Most of these things have been gone over till they've been beaten to death.

YOU are pretty much just parroting things.

Link to a study? Nn YouTube dorks. Link me a known tech journalist proving this. If you don't have it, don't talk about it.

Literally *exactly* the same. Try again.

"Team has opted not to have their memory ICs printed with any information, so it is up to Typhoon Burner to tell us what we have here. We find out that these are SK Hynix ICs, more specifically, they are H5AN8G9NAFR-TFC chips. We can only assume they are blanked out as supply may cause them to change manufacturers in later production.

It's SK Hynix. You know.. one of the 3 biggest manufacturers of DRAM in the world? You're right, though. HP, Asus, and Apple all use really poor quality DRAM. Same with Corsair, G.Skill, and Kingston. Because they all use SK Hynix. Like TeamGroup.

Who cares? That's reaching pretty far to spend almost double for 1TB of HDD storage.

Read the difference. There are quite a few.

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-B350-PLUS/

https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/PRIME-X370-A/

Anyways, we shifted to Intel...and there, there is a difference. The Z370-A does have better heatsinks, than the B360 Plus.

I just assumed you were talking about the Intel builds. In general, I always pick the ASUS - A boards. They always have something extra.

/e As for the RAM, you need to do more research.

Just for example... (they don't have the versions for DDR4 out yet)

What? It's easy to find out what DRAM modules are made by what OEM. You just use Thaiphoon Burner. You don't need the info from the company selling it. People have been compiling lists of every single RAM kit variant from Corsair, G.Skill, etc. on reddit since AM4 came out because it used to need B-Die to go over 2933MHz.

Example of my RAM in Thaiphoon Burner:

Mine is Samsung B-Die 3200MHz.

Well, maybe I'm not using it properly, but like I said, it won't read Corsair RAM (at least my DDR3 RAM), IC chip manufacturer?

If I'm not using this correctly, let me know. Just clicked READ and then REPORT. AIDA64 was turned OFF as per instructions.

My IC chips are Nanya FYI. (as per Corsair)
