What's a kid gonna do to a full PC? It's not like they can move it.

Kids knock shit over all the time. Dressers book shelves etc.. very common that's why you're suppose to anchor them to walls. A PC compared to a dresser is nothing.

Knock it over, spill something on it, fuck with settings possibly causing hardware to fail, trade sell it to a friend if bored.
Though this will vary upon the kids mentality but a lot of shit could happen.

Nothing wrong with buying new though when cash isn't a huge concern.

zell1luk's build is solid but I would also opt for the ssd over the plater drive. The speed difference is huge.
I'd spring for a 500gb ssd so it holds out longer and be use later on for only 50$.

Keep in mind that mobo may require a bios update to work.

Only thing that bugs me is that ram is 19CAS standard being 17 for that speed.
I wonder if 2400mhz ram would work better at 16CAS.

Back after doing the math

CAS/MHZ X 1000 = access time in ns.

CAS/MHZ
(16/2400) / (19/2666)
0.00666 / 0.00712

Would be better to have cas 16 at 2400mhz.

either works but no sense in buying old tech unless its super cheap.
1050 is better in case the price is the same and your not sure which.
