If you just pulled the CMOS battery and then put it back in, all you did was reset the BIOS to defaults.
If you replaced the CMOS battery with a new one, well, that's different.

yeah idk it would not power on this one time, no matter what i did.
pulled cmos and put it back in and it started right up

if i have another freeze/lock the first thing im doing is formatting both the SSD & HDD and re-installing windows 10, and full drivers for everything.
idk since last night no freeze yet today, played CS GO for an hour+ and watched streams on twitch.
so far it seems okay. things i've done so far;

Fresh windows 10 install
Updated GPU Driver
Un-seated / Re-seated RAM sticks (blew the slots out with canned air)
monitored temps

so we shall see how this goes, i just want my PC with as decent as specs as it has and as little hours ive used it to be up to par and not have major issues

Yeah, sometimes the BIOS just...gets confused. Resetting the BIOS to defaults by pulling the CMOS battery...helps.

As to the original problem, just re-seating the RAM may have fixed it. Time will tell.

If that doesn't fix things, then you probably have a hardware problem. Good luck. :)

I hear that. Having something you depend and rely on fail is no fun.
