Before installing drivers does Windows see both connected

I got a amazing idea. Why don't you post a screenshot of your Catalyst Control center.

i didnt plug in the 2nd monitor after i uninstalled, but before reinstalling drivers. everything was in like 600x800 resolution or something and was hard to navigate things. that is a good question, to see if its a driver issue?
but this literally happened the second i clicked the eyefinity setting in the amd radeon setting program... and yet reinstalling drivers didnt fix it. im lost

Does Speccy show both monitors?
Does Device Manager show both monitors?

ok... some progress.... now i was able to plug in the hdmi for my tv and nothing crashed. but... the tv is showing up under "control panel -> .... -> display -> screen resolution.
and the amd radeon settings is showing the tv. but nothing is displayed on my tv when duplicating screens. only a black screen...

Open a program like VLC media player and see if you can drag it over to the TV.

Any windowed program will work for this...maybe even Paint, if you don't have VLC media player.


When you drag it over to the TV you should SEE it on the TV screen.


/e Drag it back to the desktop when you are done. If you close a windowed program on the TV screen, next time you open it, it will open on the TV screen...only.
Wherever you close a windowed program, that where it will open next time.

its on duplicate displays though. not extend. i cannot drag mpc hc to it. and when viewing in fullscreen it still did not show on tv.

You'll need Yup or Rikuo for duplicated. I never saw the point in duplicated screens.

I use my 30" Dell for just about everything and drag w/e I want to the TV. In my case I use the TV for watching movies via VLC media player. I assume I could also use it for a game if I wanted.

Well, that's why I wanted you to TEST, by dragging something over to the TV...just to make sure it's working.
After we know it's working then you can work on the duplicated thing.



/ee Yup has like 5 or 6 displays all working at once. He's our local expert on multiple screens.
