just got a reply

Thank you for contacting Corsair regarding your inquiry. I'm sorry to hear that, separate memory kits are not guaranteed to work with one another. We would not be able to replace a kit based on this.
I would suggest returning the new memory kit and purchasing a 16GB kit. Otherwise, using the same part number will net your best results for compatibility, but unfortunately we would still be unable to guarantee it.

This is why you dont try to mix & match ram. Even if its same brand.

I have got it to work many times

xmp needs to be turned off or bios reset

then go into speed and timings and adjust to slowest common ground, and run at highest voltages but voltage part is what usually causes the issues

so now I just buy shit with same speed timings and voltages

fucking hard trying to get 1.35 and 1.5 voltage ram working together

I have also. But generally it's just a bad idea. On my old Amd Phenom 9950BE mobo, i had to force-on the ram slots to make my 2x OCZ and 2x random brand ram to work
