I know for a fact all of this started to go to shit after the fall update.
my PC has been doing the same shit since then and now i dont know what to do. i assume reset pc fresh installation for windows 7 ?

Probably best bet. Backup important files. Pop in windows 7 install disk,USB,network, etc. Format it all and install fresh win7. U don't want to leave any windows 10 drivers there just in case that's what's casing issue.

Tried them didn't work

If replacing the HDD worked then it could of been the HDD dieing.

Glad it's fixed.

you also tried to fix dziks programs and broke those so that doesn't shock me in the least.

I mean you did steal his program and pawn it off as your own, least own that shit.

@op lmk if your actually serious about fixing it cause reverting to windows 7 is a lazy mans fix.

recently bought new RAM expecting it to fix the problem ..and it's back.

It's VERY random and I have tried countless benchmark programs to monitor stuff and watched temps and everything and i see NOTHING abnormal about any of my hardware.

No event id error pops up... NO BsoD pops up... and like i said the hard freeze is extremely random and it could happen with few minutes after first reboot ...

I feel like I have tried everything and I wished I knew what the hell was going on but nothing seems to show anything for a red flag....

Could a PSU just go bad after like 4 years or so and if so could that cause the hard freeze?

Side note : When it freezes NOTHING works unless i do a hard reboot ... i even checked to see if my caps lock led key would flash on but nothing is on but my fans in the PC.

any help is greatly appreciated.

tl;dr : I have tried everything (that i can think of) BUT a fresh installation of windows 10 [ i'm not sure i can get windows 10 anymore for free? ] I currently have 10 but if i were to do a fresh installation i would have my old windows 7 .. i think?

Yes it could be the power supply....what make and model is yours.

As for re-installing Win 10...it will work no problem. Win 10 has already been activated on your hardware and will also be activated after a clean install.

@ghot I have never heard of a PSU causing this, for only one HDD to go full 100% usage. I would understand if multi things start working and not working but it seems it's only one HDD

Like I would understand if it's a cable from the PSU

Oh it can do it. All it takes is one of the 3 voltages to go out of tolerance for a brief period.
It's not enough to shut the comp down, or throw a BSOD or the like, but it can definitely be enough to garble w/e process was going on at the time.
