Thanks! Does input lag refer to the refresh rate? Looking at the specs I see Motion Rate 120 which i'm guessing is that?

Don't want to go over 500. Curious what makes that better though. The one I originally linked also has HDR+ the bestbuy listing is wrong.

so, not 100% sure on this but i dont think the samsung tv you linked can display hdr. it is just able to receive the information for hdr. the tv does not have a wide enough color gamut or get bright enough for hdr

input lag refers to the amount of time between pressing a button on a controller and the when it is displayed on the TV. since you mentioned gaming, thats why i said it has low input lag compared to most other recent tv models.

edit:

no clue about this TV, but hey 5 inch bigger and its $480. although the samsung you linked is probably a safer option for quality. the ku6300 looked amazing, which is similar to what you linked, but its a 2016 model instead of the 2017

From the specs on the samsung website "4K HDR Pro (High-Dynamic Range)". A lot of reviewers say it has HDR as well.

https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions-home-theater/tvs/4k-uhd-tvs/55--class-mu6290-4k-uhd-tv-un55mu6290fxza/

And thanks input lag makes sense. You only had the 6300 for a short time?

Thanks for the suggestion but 500 was already top end of spending. This tv will be replacing an ~8 year old samsung 720p 32" btw.

yea i had the 50 inch 6300 for a few months but then upgraded to the ks8000 65 inch lol

i still dont think the TV you linked has the wide color gamut needed for true HDR to be displayed. look it up

edit:

this is typical of a TV that size and that price. i think the TLC shaft is talking about is actually able to display HDR

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/mu6300

"When it comes to HDR, the lack of local dimming and of a wide color gamut really hurt its capacity to make HDR stand out when compared to SDR content."

"This product is out of stock and cannot be added to your cart at this time."

No time to save more lol. Christmas is on Monday so getting a tv tomorrow. That link doesn’t work but I’m not a Costco member anyway. Thanks for suggestions though! <3

I actually have been meaning to join Costco lol. Haven’t gotten around to it yet but I probably will. Those are both a lot more expensive and the ones rated worse than the one I posted. Sorry had to stay in budget so I bought the one in my op. On a related note do you guys ever buy the extended warranties?
