Not terrible if you want it to be a windows laptop.
Specifically this costs a bit more than similar laptops because it has a 1080p screen.

If you are going with a chromebook, anything with a 1080p screen should be decent.

It's more of an out with the old in with the new kinda deal. My brother is in IT and just said it's a piece of shit lol, and he's not wrong I can vouch.

I think we are looking for a new laptop at this point

i know a lot of people in IT that aren't well informed hardware enthusiasts, just a few months ago i had to pick out parts for a pc for a friend who is a senior dev making six figures, amazing programmer but hasn't owned a desktop in like a decade. It really depends what kind of IT person he is.

5 years of usage by a grandparent is going to hit an OS like 2 boeing 767's no matter what.

Hello, my bro and I are looking to buy our old man a lap top for Christmas. He doesn't do much except web browsing and all that shit. He doesn't play any games except maybe solitare.

Our budget is 600 dollars. Basically something that will last for a long time. The one he has is from 2012 and it's slow as fuck. Any recommendations are much appreciated!

Many thanks

hes probably lying and gonna start playing hearthstone instead of solitair then u will need beefy specs dawg
