Well really, I think now is the right time to buy a 4k monitor if you can afford it and the rig it requires.

Just saying that in a few years it'll likely be standard for most gaming machines.

1080p 76% on steam survey
1440 is 3%
4k not even .5%

Besides we would need hardware cheap enough to drive it

Yeah, I feel like 4k isn't worth it if i'm only playing at medium-high settings and barely maintaining 60fps

Doing some research, is this a decent 144hz one? Flicker free, nice adjustable stand.

1440 144 is plenty imo

4k isn't there yet. By the time it is I won't be playing games anymore

1920x1080 or 2560x1080? My logic is that I don't know if any 1080p 144hz IPS panels that are good or affordable exist. 1440p is gorgeous and 4k is a resource hog. 1080p is great because everything is designed for 1080p and then can be upscaled from there. 1080p is getting blurry though.

I vote 21:9 still.
