It seems like the significantly low-end shit lasts longer than the high-end stuff
when ur talking about the long haul at least, 5-10 years or more
might be because they pull so much less power and typically see lighter usage, dissipate way less heat, etc. less demanding on the silicon, fan, vrms, and maybe the paste too
i mean even now i got a galax gt 240 that's been driving a dual core pc that gets used as a Kodi box since the dawn of time and probably will long after im dead unless video starts becoming very demanding to decode.

It being a higher end gpu Has nothing to do with lifespan. Manufacturing can only be so good, you get amazing built and some not so great that will pass a qc check

Whenever you push the limits of any electronic component, you will have higher failure rates.

This does not mean that said component will fail a QC check either.

It's true of any component that is pushed by the manufacturer.

Well in your example only the 2600K would apply. All the others are already one notch under the leaders of the pack in each series.

/e Also they got rid of the lifetime warranties after the 500 series, I believe.
I know my GTX 580 was the last to have a lifetime warranty.

My 680 and 780 Ti and Titan, didn't come with more than a 3 year warranty.

it died because of user error lol not because of short life span. He bought 1060 to replace it and it fucked up again.
Reason? cos he thought it was a gud idea to use it when it's 80c+ in temps.
weather is hot as fuck these days + non ventilated room + case placed inside a table component with no vent etc.

Oh I believe. Hell, I still got AGP cards like the FX 5600 and the 6800 GT.

I don't think the 780 was cut down, but the 780 Ti was wrenched...up.
