True it's one power hungry card. takes 2x 8pin with pretty much max power pull from them all right?

Not always. Some of the models can be powered by the PCIe slot alone.

Most of them doesn't have any pins. The 75W from the PCIe slot is enough to power them.
He could like power 12 of these cards with an OC'd 7700k.

any build on pcpartpicker will tell you if its compatible and will fiy inside the case
