So instead of putting something on the mobo you sacrifice potential cpu cores for a die integrated gpu ?

Intel has been trying to do soc type shit for awhile

amd tried too it became apparent a long time ago that apu's were in fact not the future

Well there is a consumer market out there who does not use GPU's.
Pretty sure it's a huge market as well.
But they high-end line of consumer CPU like unlocked versions should feature extra cores without iGPU for gamers. Most enthusiasts go with intel extreme without iGPU but overpriced and not worth it for gaming at least for now.

if they do not use gpu's why do they need an igpu
one on the mobo will suffice as a video out
