I got this pack and they are quite nice and at max speed move a lot of air and cannot be heard sitting next to the pc.

The computer can definitely use a clean, but I think the fans are pretty crappy. When I built the PC I wanted LED's blah blah. haha

So I bought cheap LED fans, and I am sure they are a problem. They were probably 8-15 dollars. I bought a couple different ones.

I have (I think) 6 fans in total. 3 in 3 out

I'll take my comp to work one of these days and blow it out. We have like 3 air compressors.

My tower also has a fan speed control on it, with three separate speeds. I've always kept it at max because I would hate for my comp to overheat. Is that silly?

Only way to know is to monitor temps and dial them back and see how it does.

So from the way you worded this since you built it you have never cleaned it?

It hasn't been cleaned in a few months. I built it three years ago and cleaned it every other month.

Not sure exactly how often it should be cleaned, though.

Alright, I will lower the fan speeds. I might buy that 5 pack that was linked earlier.

I'd run fans at 40-50% in summer 70% generally.
Do not run fans under 40% from what I recall as too low voltage damages them or adds heat one of the two.
Depends on fan type and otehr factors but that was something I picked up over 10 years ago and it may not
holds true anymore.
