SMB is windows file server in which it shares files and folders over the network to any other windows computer connecting to it.
A common SMB server is called SAMBA which is usually used on Linux to provide comparability with windows.
When you connect to a public hotspot you can usually scan the entire network and access most laptops files via this feature because people are fucking stupid.
Note: When you plug in your computer to a network for a first time the dialog box that asks if this is a public network or a home/office network adjusts the SMB settings so that they are not visible to that particular network among other things.
ok thanks. i remember that it asks for 3 options, home network, public, and one other? like you said.
I always choose public network, even if its a home network. fuk it, i think if you choose public network, then it makes it the most secure, right?
