8320 is fine. I'm not sure how it runs in cpu intensive games but I assume it is fine for what you are doing. A 1060 would be a good upgrade but I would either go with a used 1070 or wait.

1060 3gb is basically what the 1050 ti would have been if they weren't so deceptive with their branding these days. less vram less cuda cores and less performance overall.
Although for an 8320 i dont think it matters which one you get. How overclocked is it?

hate much there has been many variants of x60 almost for all gens

hmm? let's investigate that claim:
the 960 4gb and 2gb had the exact same number of RoP's and cuda cores,
gtx 760 2gb.. 4gb.. wew both 1152 cuda cores same everything except vram
660 2gb and 3gb... same specs too? Just different memory? Wew..

As far as I'm aware the difference in spec between the 1060 3gb and 6gb is first time they pull this kind of crap.

Nvidia has been pure cancer to their consumers this gen, from low end to enthusiast (lol buy a titan pascal for a $1200 now oh wait got rekt by 1080 ti half the price a few months later? np this is the real titan it is faster than 1080 ti just give us another $1200 lol)

it astounds me that there are people that can look at the facts and still defend nvidia's business practices this gen, and brush off all criticism towards them as 'hate' or 'amd fangays'. This kind of blind brand loyalty is what I'd expect to be below a subforum like this one.

Mate i just looked up the 260 1792mb and 896mb and they are both sporting the same cuda cores, same # of shaders, texture units, etc. Same chip. They did not change anything besides the memory configuration.

The 1060 is the first time I'm aware of that they have actively GIMPED the one with less vram and falsely advertised it as the same card but with less memory.

How are you not getting this?

I get it. Pretty fucked up. Nvidia keeps shitting on everyone lately. Just ask my 970 I bought. Little Pinocchio card.

Did the 2 models release side by side? Were they separated by memory interface? Falsely advertised? Because it seems like the 216 core ones came later but had a different title on every site i could find they were listed on to reflect the increased core count. There are also 216 core 892mb versions AS WELL as 216 core 1792mb versions. That I know for a fact. So it's not comparable to the 1060.

They should go ahead and indicate in the titles of 1060 3gb's (which came out at the same time as 6gb and falsely marketed as the same card) that they have less compute than the 6gb variant. But they won't do that.

Anyway the 260 is a moot point, I'm looking at the current decade.
