when it's making my computer temps higher than when I play RUST there's a problem with the program.

The computer is only as smart as the user.
Once again this is a you problem, the software is fine.

no... that goes against all logic.

if the program is causing the issue, the program is the issue.

It's not like I'm lathering my cpu with hotsauce everytime I press discord and putting icecubes on it when I run rust.

Your avatar is ironic if you think this way.

Cause 0.0-0.2% cpu usage and 35.5mb is such a burden on my system.
You do still know its in its beta stage right?

that is an interesting world you live in

after maybe 12 hrs of uptime total almost all idle time just a few hours spent in vc with some friends and tabbing between a few channels to look at various images and click some links.
cpu usage varies usually below 1% often spikes to 5%-15% though

I only get that 0.2% idle when it is in the background

One time it even decided, not while I was doing anything in particular, that it needed around 2 tflops worth of number crunching. chrome fail.

the framework they chose to use is just so bad. You also have to do so much to the discord css in order for it to even be usable, like hiding the blocked message bar which if you leave it vanilla just makes blocked people more obnoxious and noticeable than people you actually want to see.

TBH I wish everyone would just go back to Skype. It's so lightweight and responsive after you remove the ads. Uses very little memory too at that point. Aside from the occasional friend getting hacked by no fault of their own (happened to one who was a network security specialist, it's on Skype's end 100%) and messaging you with some weird sketchy url's, it was fine.

Your discord is taking up nothing because you have no friends. no channels, and no servers you are in besides the 1 you created to sit in there by yourself.

No, Discord's desktop app is basically chrome tabs as an executable. That's the framework they used.

i am in a huge amount of servers but if I'm not using them they shouldn't be doing this, but chrome's memory management was never good to start with so meh
