I don't blame you, AMD is pretty shit, I mean.. it's AMD after all. Their products will always be inferior even when they are better.

TBH I'd just overclock the snot out of your current processor and buy a new GPU, could possibly sell your CPU for $50 and buy an even better 6core 12thread Xeon (x5675 or so) and overclock that. Should do just fine for gaming above 60fps despite resolution/GPU.

Those gen xeons never oc'd well to my recollection.
The xeon's also have lower clock rates to boot.

Better to just oc the current cpu and get a new sdd if your going that route.

Bad time to upgrade from 12gb ddr3 anyway, that's a decent amount and right now RAM is oddly expensive

I've had good luck, at least 4ghz+ is achievable. Either way, 4c 8t is good enough if he overclocked.

E: Not to mention the x5650 can be had for less than $30, OP can actually profit from selling his CPU and buying the xeon.

I have a solid oc at 4ghz, but with the warm weather is not as reliable.

What's your cooler? Ambient temps? 4ghz should be a cake-walk even with warm ambient temps.

Upgrade your GPU, if you aren't happy then pull the trigger on CPU/Mobo/ram.
