Resetting the CMOS forces factory settings and in some cases I've seen mobos with x ram not boot up because it doesn't support the speeds. After a cmos reset it defaults to a setting it will support.

However, I don't know much about ryzen and what it does and doesn't support.

And yes on the battery

this is a new build so i haven't messed with any settings.
but alright, ive heard of this working but does it make sense for it not to work right fresh out of the box?

either way ill try that tonight and see what happens.

ill return my mobo/ram as well and get new ones (ram thats on the supported list) this weekend and see what happens.

thanks buddy i appreciate it.

I restarted the cmos
Nothing :(

Gonna take it in built to the store and they'll trouble shoot for me
I sure hope it's a faulty board or else I'll feel like a tool :(

i called tech support (not sure how smart this guy was)

and he said theres been previous issues with ram being the main source. Says because the ram isn't supported by the mobo (supports corsair ram just not the model number i have)
he thinks 100% its that.

other friends and helpful people think its a bad mobo.

so tonight or tomorrow im going in to have them diagnose it themselves, for free. (computer store i purchased my parts from)

hoping it is the ram, would be a much easier fix then a bad mobo.
but we'll see.

as soon as i know ill post.

Did you try using other DIMM slots, and trying 1 stick at a time?

yeah i tried it all.
different slots, just one ram stick.

no dice.
power to my mobo, fans all still firing
everything but my prefs working.

my power button/led work, the MOBO speaker works, everything but all the peripherals.

have you tried using usb to ps/2 converters they are like 1-2 dollars
could be a usb bios and/or post-processing issue which you wont be able to fix til you can use the machine
