Not difficult at all, could walk u through it.
U pay for the marketing and research and development etc.
Plus the nice enclosure.
So long as u can solder and understand basic circuts.
i was googling to search for builds, but for a 4k projector, it seems like the main difference is in just 1 part you buy, the led screen.
but theres only 1 person i can find that has a build guide for a 4k projector. and alot of his parts are from random websites and the build seems in depth and well made. but im lost on quite a few parts.
some of the links he has are to sites in korean
the biggest issue i have with his build is how he makes his case. he uses some laser cutter and autocad i believe, to measure dimensions and make sure it will be to his desired specs. but i dont have some fancy laser cutter, and i dont have autocad. i know very little about autocad.
this is the most updated link i think:

and here are other links to the same thing from the same poster

like this part is probably one of the more difficult things for me to know how to do and stuff, cause not really sure how i would cut it and make a well done case.
" After test is done, then design the case.
Measure the dimensions of every material that will be installed in the housing.
Do not mistake, double check. "
So? I must find the best spacing between lenses with many many experiments.
If too close to back fresnel, you will see yellowish edges.
If too far, you will see bluewish edges.
At specific points, the brightness is quite uneven....
This little devil made me stay several nights through several weeks.
" Find the best spacing.
Record, check, adjust, record, check, adjust...
It took me several weeks to find out the best spacing and best material combinations.
Anyway, if the LCD is too close to back fresnel lens, then you will see groove on the screen.
If the LCD is too far away from the front fresnel lens, then you will see poor image quality.
If closer, then you will see sharp image.
But too close? then you will see discontinous-like image due to the grooves on the front fresnel lens.
Do many experiments!"
