Simply not true :O
Windows shows Gibibyte instead of Gigabyte.
80gb = 75.5gib. Sure a few 100MB is reserved for system but not why it doesn't add up.

80GB hard drive would be reported by the operating system as 74.5GB.
80,0000,0000,000 / 1,073,741,824 = 74.5GB

or is my math wrong?

If if you claim it was a typo it still does not explain how you say it don't add up.
It totally adds up correctly or did you miss the part where it is in fact a 80gb drive.

what it comes with and what it has is a different matter
Only time I've ever seen a partition not show up in windows is when its a bad drive or its in a ext2 format or another odd format.
Even still we know for a fact the drive is a 80gb HD so it pointless to even suggest otherwise.
