Might need to compromise..

The second one would be a better buy

Are you dead set on a 17 inch monitor?

I wouldn't really want to go smaller than that. Basically, I am looking for advice as to what brands I should be looking into, and which parts I should be looking for. I build desktops, but am unfamiliar with laptop parts. I know i'll need a dedicated GPU as battlefield will require it to play at any reasonable FPS. The other games, a walmart laptop could run.

Your first link seems like a solid laptop, but how outdated is that GPU?

It's a full desktop gpu in it.

More what you're looking for is a i7 and at least a 1050 ti or better. A 1060 would be ideal for your needs if you plan on planning newer games down the road
