Yeah, you have 4 RAM slots to the right of the CPU. The RAM should go into the lighter colored slots (slots 2 and 4) counting away from the CPU.

The slots below the CPU are vid card slots.

Ya fuck you're right I thought I was seeing 2.....there's 4 slots really all close together

It's kinda dark so cant see inside that well without removing the window


The current 8gb is on the 2nd slot

If you have only one stick, then that is where it should be.

I having a little trouble as well.

I just installed a new MOBO (Asus 970Pro Gaming/Aura) new CPU (FX-8320) and new RAM (Corsair Vengeance (2x 8GB @ 1600Mhz).


While in bios, it shows my RAM as 2x 8GB @ 1600MHz, but when I bring it speccy, it shows 16GB RAM Dual-Channel 800MHz (10-10-10-27).

Does speccy only show the speed of one stick of RAM? Shouldn't it display 1600MHz, not 800?

DDR stands for Double Data Rate.

In other words the BIOS is correct, but any programs in Windows, like Speccy, will see 1600Mhz as 800Mhz...this is normal...all is as it should be.
