i went from 1080p/144hz to 1440p/60hz and i regret it, but it really is a great picture.
i really miss 144hz, but i'd shit myself if i got 1440p/144hz -- just too expensive.

450-530$ can get both

/e Both of these are IPS, 144Hz or better, with G Sync.

I still use 1080p 27" monitors and they aren't even 144 hz

Will you see benefit in anything ? Of course, OLED pictures are beautiful, more pixels is nice, and high refresh rates are great, but honestly I don't see it as being THAT major of an upgrade

I was at frys and the OLED 4k tvs they have on display are gorgeous, but it comes own to content (and with monitors, hardware), for movies there still isn't a ton of 4k content (unless you subscribe to pornhub) so why bother? I got a 3-year old open box 75" Samsung 3dtv that is 240hz native for $540 taxed....I think I can skip all the other bullshit for a few more years

Now you can find cheaper 27", 144Hz monitors if you skip the GSync and the IPS.

Gsync drives the price up.

If I leave out the GSync...

What Games do you play & What are your PC specs?

Without a beast of a PC, 1440p @ 144hz is a complete waste.

Agreed. Everyone likes to say "wahhhh I want 1440p 144hz" and like 1% of those people can actually run anything at those specs.

I can understand what you two are saying. I just upgraded my rig.. trying to see if it's worth the monitor.

I play league, d3 RS. Plan on playing more games in the future.

I got 6700k i7, gtx 1080, 16gb ram.

It will max those 3 games easily.

a 1080 will be able to push 1440p 100+fps on most games.

also depends on graphical setting user wants to use
I know aa, fxaa, msaa, etc will tax the hell out of your system and many games and really offer nothing in return
